HOW WILL MY APPEAL BEW HEARD?
In common with all organisations we are following the advice of the Government’s medical advisors. Panel members are trained volunteers and many are seniors, we would not like to put them or you at unnecessary risk.
We are currently working to temporary regulations issued by the Secretary of State. Until further notice ALL appeals, admission and exclusion will be heard virtually on ZOOM.
The new regulations give panels additional powers to meet virtually on line or by telephone or to hear the appeals using only the paperwork submitted by parents. We would prefer to use the virtual meeting route which will allow you to see and speak to the panel.
There is no need to download zoom or become a registered subscriber. A few days before the hearing you will be e mailed a link which will take you direct to the panel’s visual waiting room. The temporary regulations have been extended to the end of September 2022.
A new Appeals code is being formulated by the Secretary of State. This should come into force on 1 September 2022 and will allow for the permanent use of virtual hearings for admission appeals.
